Megan was so helpful and supportive during a time where I was very uneasy about health issues I was dealing with! She is so great at explaining the "why" behind everything she is recommending so that you truly understand & want to be consistent with the exercises & recommendations she gives! Ever since completely her program I am sleeping better, I have more energy, my skin has improved & I am no longer struggling with headaches which were almost daily for me. Myofunctional therapy helps you address the root cause of so many things all in one. If you are considering making this investment in yourself, don't think twice. Do it!

I am a 59 year old female who wore braces in junior high school.  I had a severe tongue thrust but was not given any direction on how to make that situation better.  My teeth started moving back when I quit wearing my retainers.  Fast forward a lot of years..... A few years ago I started getting severe headaches.  A CT scan and MRI and several doctor visits later, my dentist informed me my bite was severely off and I should see an orthodontist.  Sure enough I needed braces - again.  He also informed me I have a severe tongue thrust and needed to follow the instructions on the little sheet of paper. Basically, I needed to practice keeping a piece of hard candy on the roof of my mouth.  This made no sense whatsoever!  He did tell me the braces would absolutely do no good if I could not get the  tongue thrust under control.  That prompted me to google for tongue thrust therapy.  Best day ever!  Sarah Hornsy Faceology appeared.  I read the information on her site and thought this is for me!  And that is how I met Megan.  She has changed my life.  Probably every session I say "I had no idea:  you were supposed to keep your tongue on the roof of your mouth, how to sleep with your mouth closed, how to drink water, how to swallow food"!  I'm 59 years old and I really didn't know these things.  How have I made it to 59??  Swallowing correctly is the foundation for good health.  I no longer breath with my mouth open. I keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth.  My teeth are moving much faster than excepted - because my tongue is where it is supposed to be and not resting on my teeth.  My digestive system works better.  Who would have thought I could have so many things improve in my life by going to tongue thrust therapy?  Megan has been wonderful!  She has the patience of a saint!  She is so helpful every session.  I have thought many times I don't think I can do this.  But with Megan's encouragement I try and work on it all week and before you know it - it is all working like it is supposed to.  I think any doctor and dentist who deals with children who have tongue thrusts should encourage them to attend therapy with Megan.  This has been a very positive experience.  Best money I've spent in a long time!

Initially, I was not sure how myofunctional therapy would work for me but I'm so glad I made the decision to give it a try. Myofunctional therapy has made me approach health differently, and I've seen real good changes! Megan is SO GREAT to work with. Her directions are easy to understand, and she is encouraging not just in my myofunctional journey, but also my overall health journey. I've enjoyed working with her. She's very responsive via email. Definitely recommend.

Most of my life I've had issues with my sleep, had headaches most days, and was always tired. In the last 6 months I went through an extensive program to tackle these issues, under Megan's great guidance and care. Megan brings a lot of experience, answers any question with a lot of knowledge and great explanations, always with a big smile! In the process I did a tongue tie release, with all the pain and uncertainty, and Megan was always there to guide and reassure, with all the ups and downs. Little by little, as we progressed, I felt better. The tension in my neck and shoulders melted away, I now breath and sleep better. Headaches disappeared almost completely. My body is now more aligned, and even old shoulder nagging pain improved to the point that it is no longer an issue. I definitely recommend working with Megan!!

I have worked with Megan for her year-long therapy treatment to address my snoring, mouth breathing, and tongue-thrust. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience. I have snored for 20 years. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, but hated wearing my appliance. I thought why not give this a try? If it helps me to stop snoring and not have to wear anything I was willing to put in the effort! I never thought that I would be able to contain my tongue in the roof of my mouth or stop breathing through my mouth all together. I’ve been able to sleep through the night and my snoring is almost nonexistent. My severe seasonal allergies have improved significantly as well as my brain fog. She was able to teach me even the most challenging exercises that I took forever to get the hang of. I really appreciate her patience and encouragement as I tried to figure out what to do with my tongue after so many years of doing something completely different. She keeps you relaxed and encouraged as some of these exercises can be frustrating to get down. I’d recommend Megan to anyone of any age for myofunctional therapy.

Struggled with lack of energy my entire life and thankfully stumbled upon NW Myofunctional. I feel so, so lucky to have started this program and truly feel like I have a big part of my life back. I used to struggle staying awake at my desk and anxiety. I now sleep all the way through the night and my anxiety has lessened tremendously thanks to Megan. That alone made this process worth it. Megan is extremely flexible and kind. Don't hesitate in booking her and starting this process.

Megan’s fun personality and vast knowledge/experience made myofunctional therapy a breeze. For background, I clench/grind my teeth at night to the point of cracking molars. After having two molars extracted and implants done, I needed answers and ways to stop this destructive process. Megan to the rescue! She articulately explained the role of the tongue and proper breathing during our initial assessment and patiently worked with me during our sessions to teach me the exercises I would need to master in order to improve my breathing and tongue placement which would in turn relieve my symptoms. You can’t be lazy though! You have to be committed to doing your exercises to see results, but Megan is the best cheerleader and coach to have along the way. I’m still doing my exercises to get even better, but I have been able to wake up for the first time in years without jaw and teeth pain from grinding. Highly recommend her! (and no, I wasn’t given anything in exchange for this review).

I worked with Megan for nearly a year on myofunctional therapy to help correct tongue thrust and tongue positioning issues. She's an incredibly kind, patient, and thorough teacher who truly wants to see you succeed. She'll get you to really think about how you're eating and drinking, as well as where your tongue is positioned in your mouth. And so many of the things I learned have helped improve my breathing and tongue posture for the better. I loved getting to work with her would absolutely recommend her as a myofunctional therapist!

I worked with Megan in 2018 to help me with a bad snoring problem. I had heard that tongue posture could cause snoring, and I definitely wanted to investigate that route before getting a CPAP machine. From day one, Megan was wonderful to work with. She answered my questions via email before I met her. Then, she met me for a consultation where she answered all my questions, taught me a lot about what myofunctional therapy could do (and couldn't do), and generally put me at ease about the process. I found the therapy to be challenging at times, but it was quite effective and fun! I also found it to be affordable given how much snoring and sleepiness can affect your health and life quality. Most importantly, therapy really worked!!! I have a sleep app that listens to me while I sleep and my snoring went from being open-mouthed and LOUD for 30-40 minutes each and every night to rarely snoring. If the app does catch me snoring these days, it's close-mouthed and only for a couple minutes. I used to wake up at least once every night - now I sleep through the night. If you're at all considering doing myofunctional therapy or seeing if changing your tongue posture can help a snoring problem, I highly recommend talking with Megan. She's great and her methods really work.

Since being diagnosed with TMJD, I have struggled with pain for nearly 13 years.  The last 3 years I have devoted to finding relief so that I can be the wife and mother that my husband and children deserve.  After careful consideration and with the recommendation of my TMJ specialist, I found Megan Van Noy.  After seeing countless dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and doctors, I finally can say I have more pain free days than days filled with pain.  I can expect several years of treatment with my TMJ specialist to get the expansion of my palates with the A.L.F. appliances, and hopefully the correct bite to give me further relief, but Myofunctional Therapy has been a true blessing to me.  I highly recommend Megan as she was a joy to work with.  Myofunctional Therapy truly works, even if the exercises may seem silly or non-effective, stick with it, because they work!  I can now say with confidence that I have a better range of motion with my tongue, I no longer have a tongue thrust, I rest my tongue on the upper palate comfortably and I am breathing through my nose primarily and also swallowing properly with the tongue on the spot!  Megan is very knowledgeable and dedicated to her patients and I know, without a doubt, that she cares so much about the success of her patients with their Myofunctional Therapy.
